Starcraft is one of the oldest and most respected names in the RV industry. In fact, we’ve been around since 1903. Back then, we made our name building livestock tanks and other metal farm equipment. In the 1920’s, we added a variety of boats to our product lineup. And in 1964, we entered – and revolutionized – the modern camping industry.
Where We've Been:
Founded in 1903 as Star Tank Co. of Goshen, IN manufacturing metal farm equipment.
Produced its first row boat in 1915 and changed name to Star Tank & Boat Company.
Entered the RV Industry in 1964 by introducing three models of tent campers.
Changed name to Starcraft Corp. in 1966.
Lloyd Bontrager (Jayco Founder) invented the first lifter mechanism in 1963 and ran operations at Starcraft until 1967.
Starcraft became the first to manufacture luxury van conversions in 1977.
In 1984, Lear Siegler (Learjet) acquired Starcraft.
Jayco purchased the RV Division of Starcraft Corp. in 1991.

Nearly 55,000 camping trailers produced by early 1990s.
Celebrated 110 years in business in 2013!
Starcraft repositioned itself from a “niche manufacturer” to a “mainstream RV manufacturer” in 2008.

In 2014, Starcraft celebrated 50 years in the RV Industry.
